ADNI Distributed Data Entry System
https://adni.ucsd.edu The ADNI Distributed Data Entry System is used by research sites to view, enter, and update clinical data collected for ADNI.  It is used by ADNI Cores to track the study progress and to capture quality control data for MRI, PET, and Biomarkers.

Laboratory of Neuroimaging
The LONI data archive is used by research sites to upload MRI and PET scans conducted for ADNI.  ADNI Cores use LONI to download scans to conduct quality control checks, and to store recontructed images.

FAQ: Study Partners
Question B:  If a couple want to take part in the study, can they be each other's study partner, or do they need a study partners?

Answer to B: Enrolling a couple where neither party is MCI or AD is allowed, and each can be the study partner for the other.

Enrolling a person with MCI or dementia and their spouse both in ADNI is also allowed, but we would ask that you find a study partner who can reliably report on memory, health and other issues for these controls.  This person must have 10 or more hours a week of contact with the ADNI participant, which can include time on the phone.

Keep in mind that if a couple consents to all of the imaging options, and LP that a considerable time commitment is being made.  We hope that you will use your recruitment and retention funds to enhance their comfort and make it convenient for them to return.  Remember that these funds can provide transportation, meals, hotel stays or whatever you feel would be most effective at your site.

If you have questions about requesting Recruitment and Retention funds please email our recruitment coordinator, Ann Wehling (brainlink@ucsd.edu).

FAQ: First Subject Recruited
Question A.  When, to whom and How do we go about letting you know about our first subject so he/she is allocated to the appropriate cell?

Answer to A:  Your question is really two separate issues, the first is how the coordinating center is notified of subject enrollment, and the second is to do with Scan Category Assignment or 'cell allocation'.

Whenever you are ready to schedule an ADNI screen you will need to begin by registering the subject under ‘participant enrollment’ which will assign a number to that subject.  You’ll then schedule the screening visit, conduct the visit and enter all of the visit data on the distributed data entry system.  Once the screening visit is ready to be reviewed, your site monitor will receive an automatic notification from the system that the visit is ready to be reviewed.  Your monitor will review the screen and indicate online whether or not the subject can continue on and have the Screening/Baseline 1.5 Tesla MRI scan.  All of this is automatic and there is not need for direct communication between yourself or your monitor.  You will be notified by email when the screen is reviewed by your monitor and whether it was approved or failed. Because this is all automatic keep in mind that your monitor will not be aware of the screen until you have entered the data.

If you have questions about a subject’s suitability or questions half-way through the screening visit you should contact your monitor by email or phone and he/she should be able to help you.  You can also always use the
online helpdesk for any questions to do with ADNI, and these will be forwarded to the most appropriate party.

Scan Category Assignment or 'cell assignment' is done automatically based on what the subject has consented to and is suitable for.  The assignment is an automatic computer randomization that only occurs after the
Screening/Baseline 1.5 T MRI is reviewed by the Site PI and approved by MRI QC group, the APOE results have been received, the screening visit is entered in full and all errors are resolved, and the monitor approves the
screen.  The study coordinator, Site PI, and clinical monitor will receive email notification of the scan assignment.
