Proposed Analysis: | The aim of this research is to assess how current technology (for example emotional robots of the PARO series) affects dementia sufferers physiologically and to extent cognitively. The objectives are as follows: • To identify suitable dataset of people with dementia and healthy controls containing for example Actigraphy measurements, and/or EEG measurements, ECG measurements, and possibly questionnaires; • To analyse patterns of behavior in the time series of data obtained from physiological measurements; • To develop markers to identify dementia – in its early stages as well as in different stages of its development; • To use questionnaires and EEG measurements to establish ground truth; • To develop signature for dementia; • To establish how healthy old adults metrics compare with dementia patients. Methodology: 1. Statistics of time series data, including ANOVA 2. Data mining of time series data 3. Machine learning of time series data; 4. Fractal analysis of time series data. |
